fraenz-timberSHORT  BIOGRAPHY  :

Born in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg on August 12 , 1943 .

In  art ,

I am an autodidact.

In World War II , I started  « drawing » .

As a war baby I hardly had toys.

So,

my mother gave me a pencil

and

some paper.

Since that moment,

I spent most of my time with doodling …

and …

I never stopped that activity again !  :o)

Later,

after my college years,

I attended courses in

drawing,

painting ( watercolour ) ,

etching / engraving

……

interested in a lot of things,

design,

illustration,

photography,

have become my favourite activities, all the same.

I participated  i.e. in group exhibitions .

Since

the end of  2002 ,

I’m in  mail art –

and prefer

creating and receiving

original ( ! )

works of art .

CELL GENERATION WEB ART PROJECT

Posted on April 22, 2014 By

Third millennium. The society force us to use the cell-phone, which is now become a status symbol.
Each of us is identifiable and  traceable thanks to ten digits or so that mark us. Within a century this code could even replace the names.
Do you remember Orwell’s “1984”?
What is known for sure is that, nowadays, the cell-phone is an integral part of our life. We are slaves to it!!!

Which kind of relation do you have with yours ?

Send a picture a drawing or something that shows your connection with the cell-phone.
Please specify your data and your mobile number without the last 4 digits.
The photo will be inserted in the project, puplished in my web site and used in future installations.

Happy Thoughts

Posted on January 18, 2013 By

Being an artist takes a lot of work and dedication. It can take years before you can earn from it. You can, however, always play casino games at Casino Ranking for quick cash.

The inspiration behind the project:
We all go through phases in life when we feel down, sad and uninspired, wouldn’t it be nice if

we could browse a collection of creative artworks showcasing happy thoughts

of people the world over? …how an ice cream could make up one person’s day,

the thought of a loved one, childhood memories of lakes and swings…

all of these remind us of the good things in life.

It is hoped that this collection of happy thoughts will inspire people, and

reach out to them, wherever they may be, whenever they need uplifting and inspiration.

As all art work

Posted on October 9, 2012 By

atc_hpAs  all art-work – an  ATC  should be  signed and dated   by its creator !!!

Exchanged by mail, the backside of an ATC should  mention ( legibly written ) name and address of the creator !

An ATC should also be an original – or a part of a very small edition … As part of such an edition, it has to be
numbered ! ( F.e. :  1/5 = number one of an edition of five .)
– Artists know that it’s the same procedure as for multiples like wood-cut, lino-cut, a.s.o. .

SINCE THE FIRST YEARS OF `80s  I  COLLABORATED WITH  GIANCARLO  DA  LIO

PROPAGATING THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE MOVEMENT ITINERARI  80  ABOUT THE

MEANING AND THE USE OF ALTERNATIVE ART SPACE.

IN THIS CONTEXT I ENTERED MAIL ART NETWORK.

IN THE BEGINNING, AS MANY MAILARTIST DO, I TRY TO ANSWER TO MAIL ART

PROJECT WORKING ON THEME AND NOTHING ELSE.

I THINK I CAN NAME “ARTIST” ONLY SOMEBODY HAVE IN ARTWORKS THEIR “LINE

OR SYMBOL” WHICH IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THEIR IDEA, ON THE CONTRARY THEY

ARE “ARTISAN”.  IT IS THE SAME WITH MAIL ART. AND SO I TRANSFERRED MY “SYMBOLS”

FROM PICTURE TO MAIL ART WORK. AND NOW I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE UNTILL

I’LL TURN MY IDEA ON ART WORK. MAY BE ?

NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. TURNING OVER IDEAS MADE CIVILIZATION OF MAN AND EN-

VELOPING OF SOCIETY : THE NEW FRONTIER WE NEED.

MY WORKS NAME “PLASTOCOLLAGE” , BECAUSE I USE PLASTIC MATERIAL TO MAKE

OR TO STOP TOGETHER MY COLLAGE. THE NEOLOGYSM IS BY GIANCARLO  DA  LIO , ART

CRITIC.

SINCE MANY YEARS YOU SEE MY WORKS GOING ON WITH PYRAMID, PALM, APPLES, CD.

THE PYRAMID IS THE SYMBOL OF THE PAST AND OF ALL THE HISTORY AND THE CULTURE

OF MAN, OF ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE KNOWN AND STUDIED. THE PALM ARE FOREVER

TREES, BUT ALSO ASSOCIATED TO HAPPY HOLIDAYS IMAGE AND PUBLICITY PARADISE.

THE APPLE, POLYHEDRIC FRUIT, REMEMBERS GOOD AND EVIL, BUT IT IS ALSO THE

SYMBOL OF NEW YORK AND OF COURSE OF THE BEATLES : FEELINGS, IMMORTAL MUSIC

ASSOCIATED TO THE BEST MOMENTS OF OUR LIVES. THE CD SPREADS AND CONTAINS

MUSIC, PICTURES, WORDS, ABOVE OVER IDEAS.

IN THE XX  CENTURY THE FUTURISTI` WAVE GAVE A TURN TO THE HISTORY OF ART ABOVE

ALL   IN THE MOOD TO DO ART. LUCIO FONTANA CUT THE CANVAS, GIVING US, ARTISTS

OF THE END OF THE CENTURY BUT ABOVE ALL OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM, THE POSSI-

BILITY TO GO ON THE OTHER SIDE.

WE ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE NOW.

passed away (décédée / verstorben ) on March 9 , 2006

Posted on March 4, 2010 By

On May 7, 2004, invited by Baudhuin, I met this great ( mail ) artist for the first time and I spent a truly
pleasant and informative afternoon in his sweet home in Habay La Neuve, Belgium.
In mail art since the end of 2002, it was even the first time I met a “real” mail artist, a man who knows what
he’s talking about, for he started his MA-activities in 1985 …
I left Baudhuin with my promise to publish the following text on my site.
Baudhuin has no homepage.
